Combined gas measuring detector for combustible gases including natural gas supply with ingrated ethane detector. Available sensors for ethane, oxygen, carbon monoxide, carbon monoxide and hydrogen sulfide.

Bacteria converts underground methane to carbon dioxide disturbing the peak pattern of methane measurements leading to the leak source and affect accuracy of hazard zone determination. Increased carbon dioxide readings indicate previous methane gas presence or older gas leaks. Measuring carbon dioxide levels with methane levels improves accuracy and eliminates the need and time to vacuum bore holes. When testing bore holes for natural gas leaks vacuuming purges the CO2 and focuses the peak of methane measurements. Vacuuming each bore hole before measuring the methane levels takes at least two minutes per hole. Using the Sewerin HS680 to measure CO2 and methane eliminates the need to vacuum. CO2 causes false peaks.

The bore hole probe must be sealed around the bore hole or air from above ground will dilute the methane readings causing false low readings. Sewerin’s specially designed probe vastly seals around the bore hole reducing dilution errors.
